Heaven's Windows:
Serving the Community
Heaven’s Window is a charitable organization and community Food Hub in San Diego County aiming to help improve the lives of families, senior citizens, migrants, un-housed individuals, children, and more. We work to connect people with various resources to help overcome food insecurity in our local community.
Our Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the NALC Letter Carriers brought in over 14,000 lbs. of food. Thank you to Spring Valley neighbors, volunteers, and staff for all your hard work making this happen. A special thank you to Representative Sara Jacobs for jumping in to help make this day successful.

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Spring Valley Day event, County Supervisors Monica Montgomery-Steppe and Paloma Aguirre presented our Executive Director, Angela Kretschmar with a proclamation for the work that Heaven's Windows does in our community. We are so thankful for this recognition.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) combats hunger and brings healthy foods to children in afterschool programs. This federal USDA program provides Heaven's Windows the opportunity to serve nutritious meals and snacks to children and to meal sites in San Diego County. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children, where children congregate at afterschool programs and activities.

Summer is coming starting June 1 to August 28 depending on the meal site school calendars.

With kids being out of school, the Summer Food Service Program is available to all children under 18 years of age at our meal sites in San Diego County. Check our Child Nutrition Page for more information about our meal sites.
