Community Resources

Heaven’s Windows is all about nurturing growth among communities in San Diego County, CA. However, the services we have come up with would not be possible if we were alone.
Here are our partners in our charity ventures and assistance programs:
As a local non-profit organization operating 24/7, 365 days a year, 211 San Diego is the region’s most trusted source for access to the community, health, social, and disaster services. Dial 211 and get access to 6,000+ services, resources, and programs available through our online database. Your call is free of charge and confidential, with more than 200 languages available.
The Food Bank operates a number of hunger relief and resource programs for our client population. The Food Bank receives food from a range of sources, including locally-run food drives, the USDA, growers, retailers, and wholesalers. Once the food arrives at our warehouse, we rely on volunteers to inspect and sort the food. Food is then categorized by food group and boxed and bagged for distribution to the community.
Established in 2007, Feeding San Diego is the leading hunger relief and food rescue organization in San Diego County and the only Feeding America member in the region. Feeding San Diego is on a mission to connect every person facing hunger with nutritious meals by maximizing food rescue. Your support helps provide nutritious meals to people facing hunger.
Established in 1994, Senior Gleaners provides multiple benefits by harvesting and collecting food otherwise wasted to feed those needing it the most. Providing meaningful activity and social connections for volunteers. Helping residents (many of them seniors unable to care for their trees) harvest surplus crops—mostly citrus.
Keeping tons of organic material out of landfills where it generates harmful methane gas. Helping businesses comply with state laws restricting disposal of organic materials.
Hands On San Diego engages individuals as well as small and large groups by connecting them with local nonprofit organizations where they can donate their time and talent for a variety of projects and activities.
Nonprofit organizations benefit because volunteer engagement increases their reach and capacity. Volunteers benefit because they witness first-hand how they are positively impacting the San Diego region.
